Early Game Concepts

This is very early game concepts and ideas.

The evolution frog
A platform game with a world scrolling left. The player is frozen to one position on the screen, but is animated to appear as it is running/jumping. Traps and obstacles will move in on the player from the right and the player will have to time his jumps to get through. The controls are to press down anywhere on the touch screen, the amount of time pressed down is directly converted to the amount of power in which the player will jump up. Ideally the jump will be calculated in units of newton and our physics engine will calculate the player's jumping arc in regards to gravity.
Our idea is to start as some form of micro organism, and having the player, world and theme to gradually evolve as the player progresses. Perhaps, from micro organism to grasshopper, grasshopper to squirrel, etc.
The game should be hard enough to be able to rage over, but still the obstacles has to individually be easy enough for it to be addictive, you should lose because of an apparent mistake from you which keeps you retrying.

Gladiator Manager
In this game the player takes the role of a manager for one or several gladiators. Each gladiator have different skills and different equipment which means that they will perform differently depending on their opponents. It’s the player’s task to recruit and train his or her gladiators and also buy them new equipment. Furthermore, the player has to select which one of them that should fight against other gladiators in the gladiator fights.

The game is a turn-based multiplayer game where the players compete against other players and their gladiators. The fights can be either single fights (1vs1) or with several gladiators. The theme is Roman which means that the environment, weapons and other equipment will be designed according to that age.

One man defender
The game is somewhat inspired by the game Alien Swarm on PC. It is a co op game where the players traverse levels and shoot aliens. Our initial idea was to use a similar concept but for smartphones, with two joysticks in each corner of the screen. One to control your movement direction and the other to control which direction you wanted to point your gun. The concept developed into a mix of a tower defense game and Alien Swarm type game.
In our game the player would have a fixed position in the middle of the screen. He can turn turn around with a joystick to aim his weapon. Waves of enemies would try to get to the player and attack him. The player has guns, traps and potentially turrets to defend himself. After each wave the player would be able to upgrade weapons, replace traps etc.

Started from the bottom, now we're here
The player starts of as an immigrant in America. The whole game is based around doing normal work like cleaning, maintaining order, printing out papers for a company based in a skyscraper. As the game progresses the player get other jobs or higher ranked jobs by doing good work that pleases the boss or the people around you. In addition to that the game mechanics will change depending on which kind of job you have. A cleaner for example will do cleaning by dragging around the finger on the floor and get points for doing that while a boss will walk around his employees trying to maintain order.

If the player reaches a boss rank the game will also change because the ways of being promoted is getting more shady, like bugging other bosses tables or planting important papers that could get other employees demoted.

Runner game
The game is a platformer, where the player is auto running. The player can jump, crouch and has control over the colors of the platforms. Certain platforms require certain colors, otherwise the player will fall through them and lose. The player must change colors of platforms as he moves through the level.
